An Ascender is nothing but a zipline that you can use to climb up different cliffs and mountains. Players often build ramps and walls to climb up a mountain but certain challenges do not allow building in Fortnite. In such situations, an Ascender can come in handy as it lets you quickly travel from the bottom of a mountain to its top and vice versa.

Ascenders in Fortnite can be easily found around some cliffs. But the important question is, how do you use them?

How to Use an Ascender in Fortnite?

Once you manage to find an Ascender, using it is child’s play. Here are the steps to use an Ascender in Fortnite with different gaming machines:

  1. Get near to an Ascender.
  2. You will see the “zip up” option.
  3. Press:
    • Xbox: X
    • PlayStation: ‘Square’ button
    • Switch: Y
    • Computer: E

When you press any of these buttons, your character will use the Ascender and you will be taken to the top/bottom of the corresponding cliff. Certain challenges require a player to get off an Ascender mid-way and deal damage to some enemies in Fortnite. So, how would you get off an Ascender mid-way? Press these buttons for the same:

  • Xbox: A
  • PlayStation: X
  • Switch: B
  • Computer: Spacebar
