A Mare is a type of ghost that gains its strength from darkness and is capable of giving nightmares. It can manipulate power sources and disable fuse boxes, and if your sanity level is low, you’ll become an easy target.

It is preferred to have your sanity level above 60% as she can hunt at 60% sanity in darkness. There are three ways in which you can identify Mare:

  • Make use of the Ghost Writing Book
    • Use an EMF Reader or Thermometer to locate a ghost room.
    • Once you have located it, enter the room and place the book on the surface, to do that, equip the ghost writing book and press F.
    • Try to interact with the ghost by asking them to write in a book and then wait for a while.
  • Use the Spirit Box
