Discord Awaiting Endpoint Error

The “Awaiting Endpoint” error on Discord can be frustrating when you’re trying to connect to a voice channel. It will come up when you try to join voice but the app/website can’t establish a proper connection.

Due to this, you and your friends won’t be able talk to each other and it can happen on all servers you’re in. Don’t worry, here are some steps you can try to fix it.

How to Fix Discord Awaiting Endpoint Error

Restart Discord

A simple restart can often resolve temporary glitches. Moreover, if the app needs an update, closing Discord and relaunching it will automatically download all the necessary files/updates. Just remember to close the Discord app completely, even from the taskbar on PC.

Check Internet Connection

Make sure you have a stable internet connection because a slow speed can make various errors pop up on Discord, especially those related to voice. Run a speed test or open other websites to see if you’re able to navigate without issues.

Log Out and Log Back In

Sometimes re-logging into your Discord account can refresh the connection and resolve the voice channel bug.

Check Discord Servers

If Discord servers are down, you will face various issues including the Awaiting Endpoint error. Head to the official server status page to see if others are reporting problems.

Restart your Router

A fresh network connection can sometimes fix the issue. Power cycle your router and modem by turning them off entirely, waiting a few seconds, and then turning them back on.

Disable VPN or Proxy

If you’re using a VPN, antivirus, firewall or proxy service, try disabling it temporarily to see if it interferes with Discord’s connection. The same goes for browser extensions as well.

Reinstall Discord

If none of the above work, reinstall Discord. Uninstall the app and download a fresh copy from the official Discord website.

By trying these steps systematically, you should be able to identify the cause of the “Awaiting Endpoint” error and get yourself back in the voice channel.

In case Discord notifications aren’t working for you, be sure to try these troubleshooting tips.
