Elden Ring DLC Not Working and Can’t Enter (Fix)
Unable to start the new story of Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC? Try these steps.
The Elden Ring DLC has been highly-anticipated for a long time and has finally dropped. However, many players cannot access the new content and there could be multiple reasons why this is happening. In this guide, we will share all the known causes and solutions.
Elden Ring DLC Not Working Fix
If you can’t enter the Elden Ring DLC and cannot access the new content, you need to check if you’ve done the following:
- Defeated key bosses: Once you load up the game after getting Shadow of the Erdtree, you won’t see a pop-up window with instructions on how to start the DLC. The main thing to do is defeat Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood after which you can get started with the new content. Here’s the fastest way to reach Mohg.
- Check if the DLC is fully downloaded: Make sure the DLC has been downloaded completely. If the files get corrupted or there are incomplete downloads, you can verify game files on Steam.
- On Steam, you can right-click Elden Ring in your library, go to properties, then the “Local Files” tab, and click “Verify integrity of game files…” This checks for any missing or corrupt game data.
- A Temporary Glitch: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve glitches preventing the DLC from working correctly on PC, Steam Deck or consoles.
- Outdated game version: Make sure you’re running the latest version of Elden Ring because if the developers have released a hotfix, it will get fixed and you’ll be able to access the DLC.
- Restore Licenses: There could be a license error which is why the DLC is not working for PS5 players.
How to Restore License on PS5
Here’s how to restore the license for Elden Ring on your PlayStation 5 console:
- Go to your Settings.
- Head to Users and Accounts.
- Choose Other.
- Select Restore Licenses. Choose OK once it’s done.
- Then, go to the PS5 library and select Elden Ring.
- For games, select Download to start the downloading process.
- For downloadable content, select PlayStation Store to find the digital content in question. If the content has already been downloaded it will display [Purchased].
This should fix the error if Elden Ring DLC is not working for you. After this, if you end up getting the ‘Inappropriate activity detected’ error or wish to downpatch Elden Ring if your mods are broken, here’s how to get it done.
