Rumor: Nintendo Switch 2 Could Have 3 New Pokemon Games
If this rumor is true, Pokémon fans have something amazing in store for them.
Pokemon fans who are looking forward to the Nintendo Switch 2 console, have something more to be hyped about. Rumor has it that 3 new Pokemon games are in the pipeline for Switch’s successor.
Known leaker CentroLeaks has shared on Twitter, “Our well-known Pokémon leaker claims that 3 Pokémon projects have already been greenlit for the Switch successor.”

They add, “Including ‘that’ project, whatever it means (prob gen 10)”
Pokemon Leaker @Riddler_Khu also mentioned on X that 3 projects are on the list so far.

Of course, it is just a rumor at this point since there’s no additional leak that supports this claim. However, it won’t be far off to think that Nintendo and Game Freak would like to capitalize on the consistent hype for Pokemon games.
More so because Pokemon Sword / Shield has sold 26.27 million units and Pokemon Scarlet / Violet has sold 24.92 million units life-to-date.

If the rumors are true, getting more Pokemon games on the Switch 2 seems like a recipe for success.
Switch 2 Announcement Coming this Fiscal Year
Nintendo has recently given us a hint about the next console coming from the company, which is the follow-up to the Switch that was released in 2017.
The company’s President Shuntaro Furukawa shared this on Twitter/X on May 7, 2024 – “We will make an announcement about the successor to Nintendo Switch within this fiscal year. It will have been over nine years since we announced the existence of Nintendo Switch back in March 2015.”
“We will be holding a Nintendo Direct this June regarding the Nintendo Switch software lineup for the latter half of 2024, but please be aware that there will be no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during that presentation.”

With the mention of Nintendo Switch 2 within this fiscal year, it could be any time from now till March 2025. No other details were mentioned about the next console’s name, specs, or the launch games, but, it’s something more concrete compared to the speculations of Switch 2 we’ve had over the past few years.
