Interestingly, the list covers various genres, proving that gamers are always ready to dive deep into something new. Fortnite is still the undisputed leader revenue-wise, and sports games like EA Sports FC 24, NBA 2K24, and Madden NFL 24 haven’t lost their touch at all.
Sequels Helldivers 2 and Dragon’s Dogma 2, despite controversies, have found themselves in the top earners primarily due to good immersive content and uniqueness.
The list also includes big names like COD (despite MW3 having ‘Mostly Negative’ reviews on Steam), Valorant, and R6 Siege which isn’t surprising.
The game that has been a surprise is Palworld which became viral due to word-of-mouth hype, similarities to Pokemon, the cute yet deadly Pals and a solid gameplay loop — all of it managed during early access.
As per Newzoo, Fortnite accounted for more than 10% of all revenues last quarter, with EA Sports FC 24 coming in close second with 8.3%. The numbers drop to 1.6% of the total revenue with the last game in the top 10 list, Rainbow Six: Siege.
If you look at the top 10 list of PC and console games of only Europe, the top spot changes to EA Sports FC 24, while Fortnite takes up the #2 spot. The other games that are added to the list are League of Legends at #8, GTA 5 at #9 and Hogwarts Legacy at #10.
For the US, there are no new games added, however, the platform Roblox takes up the #9 spot.
