Deathloop Developer Working On Upcoming Marvel’s Blade Game

During The Game Awards 2023, it was revealed that a Marvel’s Blade game is in development by Bethesda Softworks, Marvel Games and Arkane Lyon. Arkane has previously developed some groundbreaking games like Deathloop and Dishonored and this upcoming game has been described as a “mature, single-player, third-person game based on the comic book hero Blade.”

This announcement comes right on time for Blade’s 50th anniversary. Bill Rosemann, VP and Creative Director of Marvel Games revealed, “We have found the perfect match for the Daywalker in Arkane Lyon, a studio of uncompromising artists who continually push the boundaries of game design and innovation.”

He continued, “In addition to their award-winning talent, it’s their personal passion and bold vision for our half-human, half-vampire iconoclast that makes this collaboration a perfect fit.”

Marvel’s Blade game is set in Paris, specifically a quarantined section because they end up being bang in the middle of a vampiric emergency, forcing the residents to hide in the night and only breathe a sign of relief as soon as the sunlight hits. This is most likely where Blade, aka “the Daywalker” will come into the picture.

The opportunity to put our spin on this character is a dream of mine and a challenge that our team embraces with a passion. We couldn’t be happier to put players in Blade’s boots, as he becomes the champion of my hometown of Paris, one stake at a time.”

What is the Marvel’s Blade Game Release Date?

The development for this game has just started and there is no official release date available yet. Here’s a sneak peek of the game (which looks super stylish – and the unique art style stands out):

The community received this teaser with a lot of excitement saying “that’s a character that deserved a game” with hopes that the devs “don’t rush it because it can bring a lot of much-deserved attention back towards Blade.”
