Death Stranding 2 Trailer Premiere At Game Awards, Release In 2025?

There’s a rumor going around that Death Stranding 2 will be shown during The Game Awards 2023, after Hideo Kojima tweeted pictures of audio mixing equipment and TGA replied with a ‘shifty eyes’ (👀) emoji. Adding fuel to the fire, the reply has now been deleted.

There are speculations that the pictures could be related to the audio mix for the trailer, and honestly, we couldn’t be more excited.

Death Stranding 2 has been a highly anticipated title by fans after the massive success of the first installment. Kojima Productions announced on December 8, 2022, that the DS2 (working title) for PS5 is officially in development. They also released an official teaser trailer at The Game Awards on December 8th, 2022. Considering this previous association with TGA, the trailer reveal rumor gets even stronger.

Death Stranding 2 Releasing in 2025?

According to one of the game’s artists, Death Stranding 2 is launching in 2025. This info comes via their online ArtStation portfolio as noticed by Resetera user Red Kong XIX. The member mentioned that the artist has a professional profile and also confirmed that their name exists in the credits of the games they’ve mentioned they’ve worked on.

The name of the artist was not revealed to the public (for obvious reasons) but they will share it with mods if they want to verify the profile. We did find the profile, but won’t be sharing it to protect the artist’s privacy, but here’s a screenshot showing the potential release date.

Take this information with a grain of salt because, as the user mentions, the game artist may not be up-to-date with the actual pipeline of the game, because they work at an outsourcing company.

However, in my opinion, this can be in line with the production pipeline of the game and DS2 could actually release in mid to late 2025.

We most likely won’t have to wait too long for confirmation, because it’s possible that the actual release date may be announced during The Game Awards 2023. The previous teaser trailer garnered 1.7M views, more than 64K likes, and 3K+ comments which confirms the hype for the unique game.

Death Stranding was originally released on the PS 4 on November 8, 2019 and if it actually comes out in 2025, then the game between the two games will be 6 years. The title was eventually released on Windows in 2020, on the PS5 in 2021, and is going to be released on iOS on December 2, 2023.

The Game Awards 2023 will take place on December 7, 2023 at 4:30PM PST.
