Anniversary Edition Of A Ubisoft Game Gets Leaked Before Official Announcement

Beyond Good & Evil is an action-adventure game by Ubisoft that was released in 2003, first on PS2 and subsequently on PC, Xbox, GameCube, Xbox 360, and PS3. Considered one of the masterpieces in video game history, players are still waiting for a sequel 20 years later. Instead, what we will be getting soon, it seems, is a Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition.

As shared by Redditor u/hector_evil recently, a store listing for Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition has appeared. But when you land on it, currently, it says “We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found. The URL may be misspelled or the page you’re looking for is no longer available.”

This confirms the release after Twitter user @MACOS380 discovered the ESRB page back in August 2023.

It looks like the new edition will be released on all major gaming platforms – PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.

There are speculations that the official announcement will be made during The Game Awards 2023 which takes place on December 7, 2023 at 4:30PM PST. Some rumors also say that the trailer for the sequel will be shown at TGA and then the remaster will be a ‘surprise’ drop after the announcement.

What about Beyond Good and Evil 2?

Surprisingly, Beyond Good & Evil 2 was revealed back in 2008 and is still not released. It has received a lot of media coverage since then, with a “definitely in development” news in 2016, trailer shown and news about the game being “wildly ambitious, but still at day zero of development” in 2017.

The official Facebook page of Beyond Good and Evil confirmed the development of the new game in 2016.
