Suicide Squad Delayed Again, But Just On One Platform
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League gets a new release date for a section of PC players.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League releases on February 2, 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on Steam but it gets delayed by a month for its release on Epic Games Store. Its new release date on Epic is March 5, 2024, as announced by the community manager for WB Games @Wyvern.
Rocksteady revealed this information via their Discord channel, but without any specific reason why it’s releasing a month later on Epic Games Store, as compared to Steam.
Here’s the full message:
The release for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League on the Epic Games Store is now March 5, 2024. If you pre-ordered the game on this storefront, Epic will be cancelling your pre-order and refunding customers directly. A confirmation email of this cancellation will be sent directly from the Epic Games Store Support Team. If you have any further inquiries regarding your pre-order, please visit https://www.epicgames.com/help.
This information has already been updated on Epic’s storefront page of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The reason behind its earlier delays was that the devs needed time to work on getting the game to be the best quality experience for players.
This title has been delayed multiple times – it was initially going to be released in 2022, then it was moved to May 26th 2023, to the end of 2023, after which the February release date was announced.
But this time around, the delay could be due to multiple factors. It could be that the devs are planning a staggered schedule to maintain player interest and anticipation for longer. Or it could be that the Epic version of the game could require more development time to ensure that it releases without any hiccups. Due to the different technical specifications and requirements of the two storefronts, it could be that Rocksteady is currently working on optimizing the game for a smooth launch on Epic.
If you’re a PC player, you won’t miss out on playing on day one, but if you are loyal to Epic Games Store, you just have to wait a bit longer.
Recently Rocksteady suffered an unfortunate leak that revealed various major story spoilers, character deaths, identity reveals, and even the ending of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. In response, the devs have posted a statement on Twitter, calling the leak disappointing and urging fans to avoid spoilers where they can and not to post spoilers as well.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will launch on February 2, 2024, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, with early access beginning January 30.
